He's no baby.

Seth was so excited to go to preschool today. Such a big boy--but I love that he still has to take bunny with him. I will be very sad the day he decides he is too old for big blue bunny (or Marley, Sidney, Han Solo, Nigel, Bracelet or whatever name he is going by that week).

What happens when Seth takes my camera....

Still alive....

Yep, I'm still here and will do a real post soon. I'm just putting this on so I'm no longer on the bottom of my sister's list. I had a great summer--many changes and many fun times. Pictures to follow soon.

Just to prove Chalise wrong....

1. Who was your FIRST prom date? Nate Vorwaller
(Yes, this was the 80's)

2. FIRST date?
Honestly I don't remember. Possibly my first prom?? I didn't really date in high school.

3. Do you still talk to your FIRST love?
Every single day

4. What was your FIRST job?
Paper route. I started in the 3rd grade and did that until 9th grade when I took a job at the Pit Stop. My 2 most vivid memories from the paper route were: 1. When my dog Tootsie (who went with me every day) chased a cat up a telephone pole and the poor thing got electrocuted at the top and stayed there for a long time. I had a hard time delivering at that house for the rest of the time. 2. When the same dog (who happened to be a black lab) killed one of our white chickens, my dad decided to teach her a lesson and tied the dead chicken around her neck hoping that after a few days it would stink so bad she wouldn't do it again. Well, she was tied to the tree when I left the house (we delivered in the afternoons at the time) and before I was halfway through my paper route, she came and found me. I told you she went every day and she had the route memorized. It was quite the sight to see a black dog running with a dead white chicken bouncing all over the place. I quickly called my sister to come pick Tootsie up.

(Me, Tootsie and Kitsa)

(Paper routes can be hazardous to your health)

5. What was your FIRST car?
Toyota Corona (the yogurt mobile). It was seriously the funnest piece of crap car. It took at least a quart of oil to get from Parowan to Cedar and back (about 20 miles each way).

(This is the Yogurt Mobile in the background)

6. Who was the FIRST person to text you today?
No texts yet. I really don't text much--I'm kind of a technological idiot that way.

7. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?
Probably my nephew Cooper since I heard him downstairs.

8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher?
Mrs. Topham

9. Who was your FIRST Kiss?
Jesse Quijano.

10. Where did you go on your FIRST time on an airplane?
Los Angeles. I flew down with my friend and we went to Disneyland and Phantom of the Opera.
(We met Davis Gaines-the Phantom- after the show).

11. Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk?

I think Sarah Hanks and we usually talk once a year or so. Now that we are both on Facebook, it helps. Actually now that I think of it, I believe Amber Topham was my first best friend.

12. Where was your FIRST sleepover?
Probably with Sarah.

13. Who was the FIRST person you talked to today?
Sam, since he was the first person in MY family to wake up. Luckily it wasn't until 8:30.
+

14. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?
Got Sam out of bed, gave him some milk and then got on the computer. How pathetic am I?

15. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
Oingo Boingo. Not only was it my first concert, but I was on the first row (until the pushing got too crazy and I had the guards pull me over the fence).

16. FIRST piercing?
My ears when I was 12. A few years later, I pierced my left ear a couple more times when I was angry at my mom for grounding me. Don't ask me why I though sticking a needle in my ear would hurt my mom. I just ended up being grounded longer when she found out.

17. FIRST foreign country you've been to?
Does Tijuana count? I mean it IS in another country, but just barely. I also went to Ensanada (which I did not like) and I will be going to Vancouver in a few weeks. Someday I will make it to Europe!

18. FIRST movie you remember seeing? In the theater?
I remember seeing Superman in the theater and I also remember Star Wars. I'm not going to take the time to see which one came out first. If you really need to know which my first one was, you can look it up yourself.

19. When was your FIRST detention?
I've never been in detention... I don't even know that our school had detention. Besides, the worst thing I ever did was skip a few classes one afternoon. Yeah, I was a really crazy one.

20. What was the FIRST state you lived in?
Utah--first and only.

21. Who was your FIRST roommate?
The summer after I graduated, I moved up to Provo and lived with my Grandma who was both schizophrenic and had Alzheimer. Talk about a fun combination. A few months later I moved into an apartment with a bunch of wonderful strangers.

22. What happened the FIRST time you were pulled over driving? Did you get a ticket?
When I was in high school, they had a push to get people to wear seat belts. If you were pulled over and you had it on, you got a prize. My neighbor was a cop, so I made a point of showing him when I was putting on the bumper sticker the police passed out to the kids. He pulled me over later that week and I got a little hat thing. Since then, I have only been pulled over for a tail light being burned out and my registration being late, but neither time have I gotten a ticket. Perfect record here! And I still always wear my seat belt.

Now is where you are supposed to tag people. If you think this looks fun, do it. If not, don't worry about it.

So ha ha Chalise. Not only did I do this, but I went the extra mile and added pictures!

Oops--too soon!

So I guess I posted my last entry a little too soon. I went in to the dr. 3 days after making the announcement and we were not able to find a heartbeat. I wasn't too stressed about it because we always had a hard time finding the heartbeat on the boys for the first time. They sent us over to have an ultrasound and we discovered that our baby had died. It was not the news we were expecting, but we are doing great. Everyone around us has been so supportive and I really have been fine with everything. If we had been trying to get pregnant, or if this was our first pregnancy after years of trying, it would have been harder. But I figured that I better announce it because there are still people who are finding out and I think it is more uncomfortable for them than it is for me when I have to tell them. So thanks everyone for your support and if we end up having another one, I will try and wait a little longer before telling!!

excuses.....

Just in case I have a few readers left who haven't given up on me and my sorry excuse for a blog-- I'm sure most of you know, but if there are any readers that are not on facebook, there is a good reason why I no longer am posting. I am pregnant and if you know me when I am in this "delicate condition" you know that I feel pretty darn crappy most of the time. I am almost 12 weeks along, which makes me due Sept 20th. I am finally on some medication which will hopefully help me, but don't expect to hear anything from me until probably May when I usually get over this part. Hope you all are doing well. Toodles!

Okay--a real post this time. But my fingers are freezing, so if I forget to use spellcheck, that is why there will be many misspelled words! This post will be dedicated to my Thanksgiving weekend--obviously I have much to catch up on. I will let the pictures do most of the talking....

My sister Valerie and I were the first ones to make it home. That meant our boys got a little extra one on one time with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma made them some special hats....

It has become a tradition of sorts that the night before Thanksgiving, we do a pig dinner. We all have troughs and eat spaghetti without any utensils. Yep--we dig right in with our faces. Even Seth and Sam got into it this year.

This year, because there were so many of us coming home we knew that we wouldn't be able to fit in the house. So my parents and Chalise worked really hard to get the garage cleaned out. We hung a bunch of quilts up, laid some carpet down, got some space heaters (which I could use in my basement right now) and spent most of the weekend out in the garage. It worked quite well! Of course Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without the Turkey bowl.

Another one of our favorite traditions is the tree hunt the day after Thanksgiving. We head up the canyon and try and find the perfect tree. Luckily, it is much easier on Nick and I now that we have a fake tree and we don't have to entertain the troops with our fighting over a tree each year. This year Nick stayed home with Sam and I took Seth up to go searching. I have so much more respect for our parents now for taking 7 kids up. I just had one and I was about to go crazy. We didn't stay out in the snow very long. Thank heavens for warm cars.

Valerie modeling the latest fashion....Furry boots! (Not quite sure why this won't quit underlining.)

Before we wimped out from the cold.

We ended our weekend together by all going to see Twilight. I don't think all of us have been in the theater together since we went and saw Superman in the 80's. And who knows if Val and Chalise were even with us then. I sure love my family!!

Paige and Jason

Val and Matthew

Kyle and Lena

Chalise and Ammon (sorry Lou- I couldn't resist--even when you are making a face you are beautiful)

The best parents in the world!

Of course, my time in Parowan wouldn't be perfect if I couldn't spend some time with my wonderful friends. It is so good to have some girl time!!!

Just a random shot of Sam but for the longest time, this was literally his favorite way to drink. He did it all the time at our house and didn't change his habits while we were at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Just a video to show you how Sam was quite entertained by the pig dinner.

Well, I best go get the boys bathed for church. I will try and do another update soon. At least you get one so far....
